Here are the results of my Tackle Box Project #1- The Maxi. I happened to have this beautiful fabric in my fabric stash that I picked up from Hancock Fabrics a few weeks ago. I found it in the clearance section of the upholstery fabrics. Because my sewing area is highly unorganized in a very small space, I did not label the fabric content. So I can’t say that I am 100% sure exactly what it is. What I can tell you is that it is definitely drapery fabric which appears to be and feels like taffeta with velvet damask.
…Pause break to add organize fabric stash to my tackle box.
Back to the maxi. This midi length maxi has a gathered waist with sash and pockets. I love, love, love her and will definitely be adding the maxi back into the tackle box to do later. And I did have some inquiries about creating this skirt for some beautiful ladies that I met when I wore this skirt out. Unfortunately, a representative at Hancock Fabrics said that they were out of this fabric since it was clearance. However, my eyes are always drawn to the most amazing and unique fabrics and I am pretty sure I will be getting some fabric in that will make you eager to rock the maxi with me.
Let me not forget this fabulous DIY top. Can you guess what it is? Leggings!!! Yes, leggings. I picked up these velvet leggings from Target and created this top. More details on that later.
See you back later for my next tackle box project pick later today.
